The Life Extension Foundation
Health and Wellness with Anti-Aging Supplements,
Hormones, and Disease Prevention

This page presents an overview of The Life Extension Foundation, a non-profit group that develops novel disease prevention and treatment protocols by funding pioneering scientific research to extend the healthy human lifespan. The orientation and work of the Foundation are discussed, selected products are described, and convenient links to products and item categories are provided in the right sidebar, along with information regarding the final clearance sale of 2010, ending 13 September, with prices 60% to 80% off many premium-quality supplements.

LEF: What It Is.

The Life Extension Foundation is the world’s largest organization dedicated to finding scientific methods for addressing disease, aging, and death.  The Life Extension Foundation is a non-profit group that funds pioneering scientific research aimed at achieving an indefinitely extended healthy human lifespan.  The fruits of this research are used to develop novel disease prevention and treatment protocols.

Stroke, heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer's disease therapies

At the heart of  The Foundation’s program are its research programs aimed at identifying and developing new therapies to slow and reverse the deterioration of aging — the underlying cause of most deaths in the United States and other developed countries.  Killers such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, and Alzheimer's Disease are caused, in large part, by the progressive decline in normal structure and function associated with aging.  The control of human aging will reduce and, eventually, eliminate degenerative disease, which could enable us to remain alive, healthy, and vigorous for centuries.

Diabetes, arthritis, and vascular disease

Health concerns such as diabetes and arthritis are often linked to the effects of aging.  We strive to provide the latest scientific information on anti aging therapies that might help prevent the onset of diabetes, arthritis and vascular disease as well as reinforcing the benefits of high quality vitamin and supplement intake.

Research supported by The Life Extension Foundation has documented the value of nutrients, hormones and drugs at preventing and reversing cell damage caused by oxidation, inflammation, excitotoxicity, and other lethal processes.  Scientists in The Foundation’s research labs have blocked damage caused by reduced blood flow (ischemia) to the brain.  Ischemia is an underlying cause of damage in patients who suffer from disorders such as coronary artery disease, trauma, and aging-related neurologic deterioration.  This type of research will lead to the ability to save the lives of millions of people who would otherwise die, and to improve the quality of life of all of us as we grow older.

The Life Extension Foundation also funds the only scientific program in the world to develop new medical uses for advanced low-temperature technologies.  Fundamen-
tal breakthroughs in ice control made by Foundation-funded scientists are leading to remarkable new methods of cryopreser-
ving cells, tissues, and organs for trans-
plant.  Over the next 10 to 20 years, the use of cryopreserved tissues for the treatment of aging and degeneration will revolutionize the interconnected practice of medicine and the other health and wellness healing arts and sciences.

Life Extension is funding a highly innovative research program to pinpoint the genetic and biochemical changes associated with aging.  The objective is to use these data to develop a validated method to measure aging over short periods of time.  This method will then be used to screen and evaluate (in highly rapid fashion) the safety and effectiveness of vast numbers of therapies with antiaging potential.

The Foundation is currently funding research that involves studying the effects of various compounds on the expression of genes that may be involved in aging.  It was long ago established that caloric restriction extends the healthy lifespan of mammals and that a single genetic change extends the lifespan of dwarf mice.  Life Extension-funded scientists have identified many of the genes that are altered in dwarf mice and also in response to caloric restriction. The goal of Life Extension’s research is to identify compounds that humans can ingest safely that favorably affect longevity genes in order to extend the healthy human life span.  In research published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Life Extension-funded scientists documented the ability of potential caloric restriction “mimetics” to induce favorable changes in gene expression, slow certain aging markers, and extend healthy lifespan in mice.  Foundation members gain access to this information prior to publication so that they can decide whether they want to incorporate these compounds into their own personal antiaging programs.

As more people join The Foundation, the pace of this research will be accelerated until total control over aging is achieved, along with the ability to extend the healthy human lifespan for hundreds of years!  Every month, members of  The Life Extension Foundation receive a 96-page magazine that brings them up-to-date on the latest scientific and medical breakthroughs from around the world.

In addition to learning about life-saving therapies first, Foundation members can obtain premium grade supplements through a unique “buyers club” discount program.

Life Extension personnel interact medical and anti-aging researchers obtain inside information about the latest life extension breakthroughs.  Foundation members often gain access to disease-preventing, anti aging findings before they are published in scientific and medical journals.

The Life Extension Foundation was incorporated in 1980, but its founders have been writing about and supporting antiaging research since the 1960s.

New medical information is being uncovered at an exponential rate.  Members of  The Life Extension Foundation learn about medical breakthroughs years before the general public.  If you are concerned about your health and longevity, we highly recommend that you join the non-profit Life Extension Foundation.
